Condition & Grading Guide

At Capsule Édit, every piece is carefully assessed and described as accurately as possible. As a pre-owned and vintage boutique, most items will show some level of wear — this is part of their character and history.

We provide clear grading, detailed descriptions, and close-up images so you can shop with confidence.

Our Condition Grades

Brand New / Unworn

• Never worn and in pristine condition
• May include original packaging, tags, dust bag, or box (where stated)

You may see: none (or only very minor storage marks)

Like New

• Worn once or twice, or handled minimally
• No obvious signs of wear, with excellent structure and finish

You may see: tiny hairline marks, very light sole wear, or minimal hardware micro-scratches

Excellent

• Light signs of wear from careful use
• Overall very well-presented and well-maintained

You may see: light corner wear, gentle creasing, minor scuffs, slight hardware fading

Very Good

• Noticeable wear consistent with regular use
• Still a strong, wearable piece with great life left

You may see: visible creasing, moderate scuffs, small marks, minor edge wear, interior wear

Good

• Clear wear and imperfections, priced accordingly
• Best suited for those who love vintage character or don’t mind flaws

You may see: heavier corner wear, scratches, staining, more obvious shape relaxation, hardware tarnish

Fair / As-Is

• Significant wear or faults
• Sold as-is and clearly noted in the listing

You may see: cracking, peeling, holes, strong stains, missing parts, repairs needed
